Samantha & Dominik were married on October 14th 2011.

First Class Classics have the most divine vehicles in Auckland, royalty and presidents have been driven around in their cars. They are kept immaculately and the drivers are true gentlemen. The cars really make the event a real occasion.

It is so important to get make up right for the special day. The bridesmaids and bride were thrilled with their makeup, Bronwyn Lewis and her team did a fantastic job.

The flowers created by Kae Flowers were so pretty and really complemented the theme of the wedding and the colours we had chosen. The girls dresses just looked fabulous against them. The colours and the style came out perfectly, colourful, fun and fresh. The flowers were used throughout the day from the girls bouquets to the church pews and as part of the reception tables in Mason Jars.

The ceremony was at the beautiful St Marks Church on Remuera Road in Auckland. The Reverened Mark Sullivan conducted a wonderful service with great words of wisdom and a fantastic sense of humour which really got the guests engaged.

What made the day truly flow flawlessly and perfectly was the help of Gayle from Exquisite Weddings. It makes so much difference when you don’t have to worry about a thing on your special day and everything happens seamlessly whilst you can focus on being in the moment with your new husband, friends and family. What makes Gayle so fantastic is that she knows who the best people are in town and ensures all the details for the day to run smoothly are in place. Gayle works tirelessly behind the scenes the week of the wedding which allows couples to spend time with friends and family, particularly those that have come from overseas.

Trousseau Bridal go out of their way to ensure you and your gals have the perfect shoes for the special day. The service in the little store is impeccable. They even managed to size bridesmaids shoes via email. The quality of the shoes is outstanding and the selection they have is great. The girls shoes were very pretty and added the finishing touch to their outfits.

The cake for the wedding was a four tiered cake with alternating layers of Lemon and Chocolate cake, it was served as the desert so it didn’t go to waste. The design was exquisite and matched wonderfully into our theme. What made the design truly personal was the piping which matched the lace of Samantha’s dress. We highly recommend you go and have a chat with Jenny from For Heaven’s Cake.

Cocoa Berry designed the stationary just as it was imagined, the theme was very specific, old country romantic travel with soft pastels and splashes of purple. Lucy and Charlotte designed the invitations, name tags, order of service, menus, name tags and seating plan and they are currently working on the thank you cards as the finishing touch. The process of getting the design right was unbelievably easy. Stationary adds a truly personal touch to the day and is something that everyone can take home as a keepsake.

The reception was at Okahu, the gorgeous venue which sits right on the water in the most picturesque spot in Auckland at Okahu Bay. The service of the staff were absolutely superb and faultless, they made sure all the guests and the bride and groom were having a great time. The food was absolutely delicious with all the guests raving about it. The pier down the side of Okahu was perfect for photo’s as well.

Other than the band, one of the most entertaining parts of the day was the Little Black Photobooth. The photo’s are absolutely hilarious and provided both guests and the bride and groom with fabulous keepsakes. The Photobooth added to the travel theme as everyone got to take home passport photo’s. It also means that nearly everyone is captured in at least one photo on the day! Silvio who managed the booth was great and he ensured that everyone who had a photo also wrote in the Photobooth album. What a great way to get the night started.

All of the beautiful photos above are courtesy of Dillon Photography. We decided to go with the special meeting before the ceremony and these are the most beautiful shots of the day where the emotion and pure happiness was truly captured. The photo album will be filled with beautiful photo’s and memories.

Other special mentions:
Betty the Dress Maker made a beautiful dress which combined a number of elements from different dresses into a masterpiece.
Thank you Smith & Caughey and House of Travel for managing all our gifts, great job!
The CVE was our entertainment at the reception and they did a stella job, everyone old and young was on the dance floor. They did every song that was requested. What an absolutely amazingly talented group. Book them today!
Dorset Suit Hire made things so easy and they really took care of the guys (especially as the bride can’t do everything, it was a relief to know they were being looked after). They have excellent quality suits and a great range to choose from. They were really flexible about pick up and delivery of the suits and the service was great.

Kathryn (the Maid of Honors Mum) who made absolutely delicious cup cakes for our picnic, they could go into a food magazine!

Lastly, the people who taught us to boogie to the first dance song by Bruno Mars - Marry You. Trish & Mike from Tempo Dance Studio taught a fabulous little jig within just a few sessions which entertained all the guests. We really enjoyed the lessons and in the lead up to the wedding it was a great way for the bride and groom to spend some quality time together.
