Monique and Carl Tuckey were married on November 14, 2009

Wow, where do I start!
After an amazing New York City proposal on the way home from the UK in 2008, having the engagement ring I had always wanted made, to getting married six ears to the day that we met, our day couldn’t have been more perfect.Being far from the traditional bride I asked one of best friends who introduced us to be my “bridesman” and he said yes on the condition he wouldn’t have to wear a dress! Then it was onto gluing 300 dried real starfish onto the invitations.
After a tough few months for both sides of our families we wanted to ensure we made it the best day possible for us and our families. On the day the weather was a bit touch and go, it had been raining all week so we didn’t know what to expect, luckily it was sunny then it proceeded to rain again the next day.
The ceremony was held on Long Bay beach, with Carl and myself reading a humourous poem about what to expect in married life, then the reception was right next door at the Sir Peter Blake MERC, were family and friends could spend the night and party the evening away, with an amazing BBQ menu, a starfish cake and loads of bubbles we celebrated and dance the night away with Carl and myself being the last to leave!
We were then back at 8am to cook everyone a BBQ breakfast, then it was off to the airport for the honeymoon in which I had no clue where we were going until we got there! Fortunately it was and amazing trip to Rarotonga and not a room at my mums in Tauranga that Carl had mentioned. Our whole day was amazing, thanks to Jayne for the beautiful and unique rings, all your hard work and attention to detail which help make our day that much more special.
